  1. Look at the following logos and explain in your own word how you consider their positioning to be.

coca cola

The coca cola logo is for me very well known.  I have always seen the logo like this and consider this logo to be world known.  Their slogan “taste the feeling” also describe their products very well.  I think Coca cola has advertised and kept its reputation through all the years. Not by making any changes at their logo, but just adhered to their original idea. The Coca cola company does advertising very good and use feelings everyone can relate to. For example, their very famous Christmas advertisement where they used Santa Claus and children. They also show us that Coca cola can be enjoyed at any time, like lunches, dinners, birthday parties and so on. They have throughout the years developed their product, like for example added different taste to coca cola. They also have one sort of cola without sugar.

I consider their positioning to be very high, this is a company that everybody has heard of. In the soda industry I think coca cola is the leading company.

 

 

volkswagen                                            Beetle_LoveBug

The Volkswagen car company and their logo are something I have recognized since I was a child. For me they have a good brand.  The first model “beetle” is one car model I remember well from my childhood. Volkswagen is known for their slogan “das auto”, and I think that describe their company as they have many different models. One model for each use and its a car for the people.

Visa to me is a pay card that has followed me since I got my first pay card. Visa is always an option you can pay with, in all sorts off shops. Online or not. As I see it, Visa is a well-known company that want to provide people with good and easy payment solutions.

Do some research on the apple iPhone and the products history and the company that manufactures it.

 

  • Describe its brand identity, exactly as you see it.

I think that Apple and their products, like iPhone has a very strong and good brand identity. Apple and iPhone are something that everyone knows. They have sold their brand and products very well. They have always extended and created new and better products.  This to satisfy the customers and the marked.  They have always tried to be as good, or even better than their competitors. A special thing about apple is that all of their products can synchronize with each other very easily. Their main goal was to make products that was so easy to use, that everybody could manage it.

 

  • What do you think their positioning is currently­?

I think that Apple or in this case iPhone has a world leading positioning. iPhone is a telephone that everybody has heard about.  Also, that you could synchronize all sorts of apple products make them very popular and their products easy to use.

 

  • What do you think their strategy for this specific product was?

I think that they wanted to bring as many functions that they could, from their computers and iPad into their new iPhone. So that it almost works like a little computer, but it’s still a phone. Still very easy and function to use.

 

  •  What research do you think was done on this by the company who made it?

I think they looked at their competitors and their products, and wanted to make an even better phone with more opportunities.  They researched what they could add to an iPhone that the competitors marked did not have.

 

  • Take the same product in question 2 and explain in my own words how the visual element (the logo) fits in with the brand identity.

I think that their logo, “the apple”, suits their identity very well. Its clean and neat, as their products and image. The apple in the logo show a missing bite.  For me this gives the logo more life and exiting look.
